Here's what goes into a minecart network substation.

For now these are just rough notes. I will compile a list of base materials as I get time. Note: Wood will not be included in the cost of things. This is the only freebie.

1x glass : 1 sand
2x stone button: 2 stone
2x red wool
4x stone pressure plate: 8 stone
6x note block: 6x redstone, wood
14x sticky pistons: 64 stone, 14 redstone, 14 iron, wood
20x iron blocks: 180 iron
22x detector rail: 132 iron, 22 redstone, 44 stone
190x stone brick: 190 stone
205x powered rail: 205 gold, 205 redstone
239x minecart tracks: 239 iron
328x redstone repeater: 924 redstone, 924 stone
347x redstone torch: 347 redstone
528x obsidian
765x redstone: 765 redstone
912 stained glass: 912 sand + appropriate dye
954 stone brick block: 954 stone
1155x cobblestone: 1155 stone
1421x slab: 1421 stone
5600~x stone: 5600 stone

Things not in the list:
Wood (?: Signs, torches, ladders, fuel to burn/smelt things), Dirt (4).

What does this mean in raw materials?

Or, in better-looking and easier to grasp numbers:

15 Stacks of Sand
3 Double Chest fulls of Cobblestone
4 stacks of redstone blocks
8 full stacks of obsidian and a stack of 16 more
529 iron bars (8 stacks + 17 bars)
205 gold bars (3 stacks + 13 bars)

edit-
I miscalculated the cost of gold and iron for minecart rails by a lot. Totals updated.

These numbers are inaccurate. I assume 2nd post is right though.
